Rita Ora, a British artist and singer. Rita Sahatciu Ora was a British singer-songwriter , born to Vera Bajraktari and Besnik Sahatciu in Pristina, Kosovo in 1990. Besim Sahatciu is her granddaughter. Her family relocated to United Kingdom at age 1. She grew up in West London and attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court, following which she graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School and afterward, St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. She started singing in the early years of her life. In 2004, she appeared in the British film Spivs. After auditioning for Eurovision Your Country requires You (BBC One), she was chosen to represent Britain in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. She was later unable to participate in the contest after several episodes because she believed that the stage wasn't prepared. In 2007 Ora was the first to get her first music release , when she performed on the track by Craig David entitled "Awkward" as well as in 2008 with "Where's Your Love" featuring Tinchy Stryder, for which she is also featured in the music video. Ora began performing in bars and clubs around London and then in 2009 an A&R representative told Roc Nation about Ora, shortly after Ora went to New York and met Jay-Z. Ora appeared in Jay-Z's 2009 video for "Young Forever" and "Over" by Drake. Ora got the attention of Jay-Z and he shrewdly signed her up to Roc Nation, in which she appeared in an advertisement for Roc Nation + Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. Her father Besnik was the proprietor of a pub and she started her singing career at that same bar. Gwen Stefani was her major influence.
