Pom Klementieff

Pom Klementieff (born 3 May 1986) is a French actress. She trained at the Cours Florent drama school in Paris and has been featured in films such as Loup (2009), Sleepless Night (2011) and Hacker's Game (2015). She portrays the role Mantis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. (2017). Avengers: Infinity War (2018). Avengers: Endgame (2019). Pom Klementieff was born in Quebec City to a Korean father and a French-Russian mom. He was employed as a consul with the French government. Her father was a painter Eugene Klementieff. Because it sounds similar to the Korean words for "spring" or "tiger" her parents named their daughter Pom. Klementieff was a Canadian citizen for a year. Her family traveled extensively because of her father's job. Before making the move to France they resided in Japan as well as on the Ivory Coast. Klementieff lost her father to cancer around the age of five. Her mother was also diagnosed with schizophrenia. Klementieff was raised in France by her aunt and uncle paternal. Her uncle, whom she described in her own words as "like her first father," died on Klementieff’s 18th birthday. Her brother who was older took his own life seven years later. The second time, it happened on her 25th. Klementieff was able to pursue law school after the passing of her uncle, but she didn't find the job path appealing. Also, she worked as an waitress in France as well as a salesperson. Her first acting experience began when she was just 19 at the Cours Florent theatre school in Paris. After finishing her studies she was selected for an audition in theater that offered her two years of tuition free along with the most renowned instructors at the school. Klementieff was the stepdaughter of Catherine Deneuve in Apres lui (2006) and was her first acting job professionally. Filming the scenes required three days. One scene featured Klementieff pushing someone down a set staircase, only to fall. Gael Morel saved that scene for the final film. Loup (2009) was her first leading role in a film. It's an French film about a tribe in Siberian mountain reindeer herders. Klementieff was filming in a camp hours away from the nearest village. There, temperatures plunged to zero.
